Kyle spent 6 years as a nurse on active duty in the US Navy and Sam was along for the ride\, working or volunteering where she could as a nurse too. In 2013 Audrey Porter joined the circus and they decided to move back to Chester County\, PA to plant their roots. Olivia Paige completed their family in 2017. As nurses\, Kyle and Sam naturally have a deep connection with people. Creativity is second nature for the couple. When Sam came home and said I want to create a business\, Kyle rolled his eyes\, nodded his head and began the research\, as Sam finished the most recent home renovation project. From there\, Guildsmith and Co was born. Not just a brand\, but an experience of bringing people together to curate high-quality\, timeless jewelry. ”

SUMMARY:Basics of Stained Glass with Huentelglas
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basics of how make a stained-glass suncatcher in this half-day workshop. Make either a Pear\, Mushroom\, Chick\, or Heart. \nThis class will cover: \n\nOverview of stained glass\nBrief history of stained glass\nGlass textures / styles\, manufacturers\nPattern making\nGood design elements\nPattern Shears – how they work\nScoring (how to cut) glass\nOverview of glass cutters (i.e. oil fed\, pencil type\, pistol cutter)\nTools used to work with glass (i.e. grozer pliers\, running pliers\, etc.)\nBasics of scoring glass\nScoring glass to a pattern\nGrinding glass\nOverview of grinders\nGrinder bits\, grinder cookies\nCopper foiling-stained glass\nBasics of copper foiling stained glass pieces\nBasics of soldering\nOverview of fluxes\, different types of solder\nSoldering stained glass\nFinishing a stained-glass piece for hanging\nAdding a jump ring\nRe-enforcing stained glass\nApplying a finishing compound\n\nThis class is great for getting an overview of stained glass\, to help determine whether this is a hobby you would be interested in pursuing. You will also receive a list of resources / basic supplies\, if you were to pursue the hobby on your own. \n\n\n\n\nMinimum age: 14 years old\, with parental signature. \nAll participants will be required to wear eye protection\, and closed-toe shoes.  \nAbout the Instructor: Jill Huentelman \n“My name is Jill Huentelman and I am an entrepreneur and stained glass artist.   \nOver twenty years ago\, I founded a company Lernia Training Solutions\, an education company catered to the corporate world. I successfully grew that business (if you want to read about my journey in the business world\, check out Lernia)\, but after 18 years\, I found myself wanting more. \nI had always loved stained glass as a hobby\, and when I had idle hands\, I came back to glass. I took a stained glass class 10 years ago\, and bought some supplies but didn’t have the time to really pursue it. 5 years ago\, I carved out some garage space and made sun catchers. I watched YouTube videos\, DVDs (remember those?) and read Stained Glass for Dummies. I kept learning and making mistakes. But that’s how we learn\, right? \nIn 2016\, I rented a room above an art gallery (Gallery 222 in Malvern\, PA) and finally had the room to explore my creative side. It’s my she-shed\, and even has a comfy couch. \nFor me\, stained glass is all about connection. Connecting with a memory.  A loved one.  Family.  We sell a lot of ornaments during the holidays\, which I love – they are given as gifts\, or personalized with a family members name on them.   Stained glass is about remembering and loving others. \nSince glass looks different with light\, it’s also about remembering that there is a whole universe out there\, and we only see things through our lens of the moment. Glass is spiritual for me\, and I’m on a journey to bring stained glass out of the confines of a church. I think it’s good to remember that we are just an ant on a speck of a planet — there is more to life than just what we see.  \nWhen creating stained glass art\, I really try to picture someone placing that art on their window\, or in their homes.  If person is not happy with their purchase\, I have a 100% money back guarantee\, no questions. \nStained glass is so subjective — what speaks to me may not speak to you in the same way. That is why we rarely do commissions. If you have an idea of what you want\, and dimensions\, but then allow us to create something for you – we definitely can help you out.  But\, if you have a definite idea of what you want\, glass colors and all\, there are many other stained glass houses that can help you out.”

SUMMARY:Spring Fun Sugar Cookie Decorating Class
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a cookie decorating class with Butter & Love! Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Butter and Love Bake Shop is here to help! In this 1.5-hour class\, we’ll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes\, it’s beginner friendly!)\, do some piping practice with Royal Icing\, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies\, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you’ll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). We’ll be decorating with a spring fun theme – from worms (don’t worry – these you’ll want to eat) and flowers\, birds and rain boots – you’re going to love gettin’ your feet wet in this sugary garden with me!You’ll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we’ll cover in class! More details on refunds\, things to bring\, credits\, and FAQs are below – looking forward to having you with us.\n\n\nFAQ’s  \nWhat will I be doing in the class? \nBesides having the most fun ever? We will be going over some cookie facts\, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you will take home with you that day. \nCan I purchase an additional take-home kit? \nYes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-do the classes. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class – so don’t forget it! If you’re skipping class and just ordering the kit – swing by anytime during class to sneak in and pick it up – it’ll be labeled with your name! \nDo I need to know how to bake? \nNope! No baking history required. We will have the cookies pre-made for you along with the icing already mixed and colored. Have a little decorating experience under your belt… er… apron? Come on too! I can help with questions on icing mixing and dough spread! \nWhat will we learn in class? \nYou’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing\, the value of different icing consistencies – we’ll touch on tips and tricks to make your cookies look even better than they taste (and they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme such as marbling\, outlining\, wet-on-wet\, brush embroidery\, and painting. Or hey – go off script and make your own designs – it’s your class! \nWhat do I need to bring? \nNothing but a smile! Everything will be provided for you including my (rather tasty) sugar cookies. All you need to do is join us and have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring your own apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing. There is a PowerPoint for reference\, so if you wear glasses\, we’d encourage you to bring them as well. Oh – and bring your phone – I love photos! \nWhat age is best for cookie classes? \nOur classes are for almost any age! From ages 10 to grandparents – come on in and have some cookie fun with us! Our in-person classes are great for any age; however\, kiddos under 15 will need a parent taking the class as well. If you think your child may be too young to enjoy the in-person class\, purchase an additional take-home kit! We’ll send you the class PowerPoint\, and you can teach your kids in the comfort of your own home. \nCan just my child take the class? \nWe ask that all parents also purchase a ticket and attend the classes with their children under 15. For children over 15\, you can drop off your child to take the class and return to pick-up in 1.5 hours. Due to space restrictions\, we do not have room for parents to stand by and watch their children in class. So unfortunately\, your adorable kiddo cannot take the class alone. A parent must also purchase a ticket and take the class as well – but I promise you this – it’s super fun for all involved! \nWhat will I bring home? \nBy the end of the class\, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24 – 48 hours in their own box. I’ll send you an Amazon link with a list of the tools we used in class so that you can recreate these cookies at home. And of course\, you’ll have new skills\, memories\, and fun! \nCan I sign up as an individual or as a group? \nYou can sign up either as an individual\, with a friend\, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We are limited to a total of 20 seats per class\, so definitely sign up ASAP! \nAbout Allie:  \nAllie is the face behind Butter and Love Bake Shop. She began baking as soon as she could reach the counter\, handing out cookies around the neighborhood! After earning a degree in Hospitality Management from Penn State she spent 10 years in the restaurant industry\, before leaving for an office job and starting Butter and Love as a hobby business. In 2023 hobby turned into a career and Butter and Love became a full time business. Allie loves baking cookies\, cakes\, breads or anything you can enjoy and particularly loves decorating sugar cookies. She is excited to share her passion with you and help you learn all about royal icing and sugar cookies!  \n\n\n \n\n\n\nDIY / Add-On Kits \nOrder your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you’ll use in class\, and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class\, and you’ll pick them up and take them with you after class. \nHow long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing\, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time\, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible – ideally in the first week after you’ve taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again\, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best. \nAllergens: Heads up – these cookies include the following ingredients: flour\, butter\, eggs\, sugar\, powder sugar\, vanilla\, salt\, meringue powder and food colorings \nPlease note – these cookies are prepared in a kitchen that also bakes with common\, known allergens: milk\, eggs\, fish\, shellfish\, peanuts\, tree nuts\, wheat and soy \nPlease consider your allergies before registering.
