DESCRIPTION:Join us in creating an autumn-themed greeting card using the beautiful techniques of watercolor! Students will be taught foundational principles of this fun and versatile medium through a series of short warm-up exercises. Next\, students will be guided step-by-step in how to paint a greeting card. This class is well suited to people who are brand new to watercolor but is also adaptable to those who have previous experience in this area. At the end of the class\, each person will take home a lovely 5×7” greeting card to have as a keepsake or to send as a handmade gift to a loved one. All materials are provided\, including tracing templates along with a brown craft paper envelope. \n \n \nAbout the Artist – Heather is a local artist born and raised in Chester County\, PA. Proceeds from this year’s tour will benefit the Women’s Auxiliary’s pledge toward a state-of-the-art Women’s Breast Center at Chester County Hospital. \nThe 2023 tour will feature Chester County’s most beautiful homes and restored barns in the northeast quadrant\, including a walking tour in the Borough of Phoenixville. The tour route features 3 segments of the Northeast – Malvern to Chester Springs\, Chester Springs to Phoenixville and the walking tour in the Borough of Phoenixville. We suggest that you choose what area interests you most and use our map to plan your day. Rest stops\, picnicking opportunities and boxed lunch pick up locations are available along the tour route. \nThe first segment of the tour begins with a tour of an historic fieldstone home on a farm that dates to the 1740’s and has served as a tavern\, general store\, hospital\, private residence and now a professional office. \nNestled within 1.9 acres of wooded land in Malvern\, the c. 1814 Schoolhouse Residence honors its early history as a place for learning while fulfilling its new role as a place for family. \nTwo historic barns are open\, each with a different look and purpose. SUMMARY:Alcohol Ink Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sycamore and Stone Farm is pleased to partner with a local alcohol ink artist\, Lori Lorraine\, to introduce you to the magic of Alcohol Inks! This is a mercurial\, fluid and incredible medium that allows anyone to unleash their inner artist. It is soothing\, relaxing and enjoyable to work with! \nFirst half of the workshop will be dedicated to learning about and experimenting with a variety of techniques on your own paper. Each “student” will be able to create gorgeous abstract art pieces. Our instructor\, Lori will bring in a large array of inks\, tools to move the ink with and will provide plenty of one-on-one assistance as each “student” creates one of a kind artwork! \nDuring the second half of the workshop each student will be able to “ink” ON GLASS and then that will go into a 7×7 frame with an affirmation. It is soothing\, relaxing and enjoyable to work with! \nFirst half of the workshop will be dedicated to learning about and experimenting with a variety of techniques on your own paper. Each “student” will be able to create gorgeous abstract art pieces. Our instructor\, Lori will bring in a large array of inks\, tools to move the ink with and will provide plenty of one-on-one assistance as each “student” creates one of a kind artwork! \nDuring the second half of the workshop each student will be able to “ink” a wall flower pod\, using one of the techniques learned during the first half of the workshop.
